How to Book Driving Theory Test?

You cannot attend your practical driving test if you have not passed the theory test, and believe me, it’s a piece of cake if you know the hidden trick. But, booking a driving theory test in the UK comes before attending it, doesn’t it?

The theory test is all designed to make sure you have the necessary knowledge of road ruleshighway codes, and signs. So, it is compulsory to book a driving theory test in the UK and pass it before you go for the driving test.

How much is a Theory Test?

You will need a valid debit or credit card to pay for the theory test. How much is a theory test? It costs around £23 for a car. However, fees may change, so it’s essential to check the latest fees on the official government website.

ELIGIBILITY

You must be at least 17 years old to book a car theory test. However, you can apply for the test up to three months before your 17th birthday if you want to take it shortly after turning 17.

  • Provisional Driving Licence no.
  • Your email address
  • Bank account details (Debit or credit card) and pay the due amount which is £23.

Can I Cancel my Driving Theory Test UK?

After booking your driving theory test in the UK, you can easily cancel this in case of an emergency or change in a schedule. Most of the time, candidates feel they are not prepared for attending the theory test because they lack confidence. First of all, we will recommend that you attend some practice theory tests. If you can pass this test, then there is no need to cancel your pre–booked slot.

However you can cancel your theory test through following steps:

  1. You must have created an account to book your test, and now you have to login to that account again.
  2. Now, you will see a button for “Manage Booking”, click on it.
  3. There will be an option to “cancel the test”, choose that and proceed.
  4. Follow the website, complete the steps and add necessary information (not difficult).
  5. After you’ve cancelled, you will receive a confirmation email on the email account you used to sign up.
  6. You will receive the refund of the charges within 10 working days.

Please note that in order to receive a full refund, you will have to cancel your test before 3 working days, or you will not receive the payment you paid. If you are not confident about your preparation, you should change the test centre and date details to postpone the test. Although there are no restrictions, you have to do so around 3 working days before. Sometimes it can cause problems.

Factors to Consider Before Booking a Theory Test

First section contains 50 Multiple Choice Questions and you have to score 43 questions to pass. Second phase consists of Hazard’s identification in 14 videos. The sooner you identify the hazard, the more points you score. The total points are 75 and you have to secure 44 points. After you’ve passed your test, you will get your theory test certificate.
